For Those Post Acne Dark Spots..Cheaper Alternative!

Hey there! These days I find myself strangely and highly intrigued by POND's products in general and after doing much research, I stumbled upon this product...POND's Clarant B3 Anti-Dark Moisturizing Cream.

I have tried the Clinique Even Better Dark Spot Corrector (Finished 2 - 1.7 Oz. containers) and unfortunately I didn't really notice my scars diminishing, which was disappointing since I paid $76 (for each). So you can imagine my excitement when I found this product (at a local Latin/Asian market) after searching Walmarts, CVS stores, Walgreens, and so on! Apparently this is a highly recommended and highly praised product. Many customers swear by it's effectiveness so I seriously wanted to try out for myself.

There's two formulations of this product, one for Normal to Dry and the other is Normal to Oily. I purchased the Normal to Dry formula. It comes in different size containers. My local Latin/Asian market only carries it in a huge tub  that contains 14 oz. of product (thankfully the expiration date is 2021!). It cost me around $16 and change, but you can purchase this online as well. This product is made from Mexico.

The pink packaging is very reminiscent of my POND's Luminous Clean Cream Cleanser, in that it is white with pink frosted cap.

The moisturizer is very light, (kinda whipped) in consistency and does NOT leave the face feeling greasy once applied. The scent also reminds me of my POND's Luminous Clean Cream Cleanser.

Post application of the POND's Clarant B3 Moisturizer (sans makeup!)

I will do a much thorough review of this product in a few weeks to show you guys if it really works (I will include BEFORE and AFTER pics!).

My sister came to visit me this weekend and she spoiled me with a bunch of makeup and girly goodies! (PIC heavy)

MUFE (Make Up For Ever) La Boheme Palette Spring 2012

One finger swipe swatches. These eye shadows are so pigmented which is exactly what I expected from MUFE.

Hello Kitty Parisienne Eye Shadow and Blush Palette.

Anything Hello Kitty is soooo cute!

I love the palette's packaging. It comes with a mirror too! so this would be perfect for on the go makeup.

The eye shadows are gorgeous, especially the gold and purple

The blush reminds me of NARS Orgasm, except without too much gold pigment. It's a very beautiful peachy-pink blush.

The eye shadows are not as pigmented as the MUFE one's so these swatches are with a few swipes.

Illamasqua False Eye Lashes 023 Short and Long length, Deep Green Black

I love the tasteful touch of green in these falsies.

I feel so grateful to have her in my life and though it's bittersweet whenever she goes back to Jersey, I really love the few moments we have to just kinda chill and talk and just be sisters.

Product Review: NEW POND's Luminous Clean

It's been about a week since I bought these two products and I thought I would just go ahead and do an updated review.

POND'S Luminous Clean Daily Exfoliating Cleanser
Product Amount: 5 Fl. Oz.
Packaging: Clear Tube with frosted pink colored flip top

What it claims to do...
  • Draws out trapped make-up and impurities to brighten dull skin
  • Gentle microbeads help to remove dull lifeless skin
  • Enriched with soft white Kaolin clay and moisturizing ingredients
  • Won't clog pores
  • Dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic
My Take on this product...

By the second day of using this product, I started breaking out. Just a couple of pimples here and there but still, a break out IS STILL a breakout so I automatically had to stop using this product. Other than that, the beads are gentle but because I have sensitive, acne-prone skin it's really difficult for me to truly say that they were not harsh enough to cause me to break out. The product had a nice scent to it and it's very creamy in consistency. It creates a lot of suds and thoroughly cleans the face, but you have to really wash off the product well otherwise you risk that dry soap feeling.

Would I re-purchase...

Unfortunately, this product did not work for me. It's sad because I really want to find a good, gentle exfoliating product (any suggestions?).

NEXT. . . .

 POND'S Luminous Clean Cream Cleanser
Product Amount: 6 Fl. Oz.
Packaging: White Tube with frosted pink colored flip top

What it claims to do...
  • Draws out trapped make-up and impurities to brighten dull skin
  • For bright, lumious skin
  • Enriched with soft white Kaolin clay and moisturizing ingredients
  • Won't clog pores
  • Dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic

My Take on this product...

I really like (more like shout to the roof LOVE LOVE LOVE!) this cleanser. It's super gentle and it SERIOUSLY does an AWESOME job at removing face makeup! It's gentle to use even on the eyes (doesn't sting), but it doesn't remove waterproof mascara too well. I have been using this product every morning and evening and I am loving how my skin looks. I haven't broken out!!! Yayyy! So I am so happy about that. As far as it's brightening powers, my skin looks more radiant than usual, though I think it will take a much longer time to really see the difference. I love how my skin just drinks up my moisturizer after I cleanse my face using this.

Would I re-purchase...

Definitely planning to re-purchase and get a backup of this cleanser in case POND'S decides to take it off the shelves or something. You never know with these fickle companies. Anyways, I just can't rave enough about this cleanser!

 **UPDATE 8/30/12**
Still had no breakouts with this cleanser. The only minor issue I have is with the packaging. Because of the packaging's texture, makeup from your hands can transfer over to tube, making it look dirty. This happened to me because when I remove my face makeup, I wet my face first with water then I reach for this cleanser. I'm not really sure how this can be avoided without any added effort or extra step of cleaning your hands first. It may not be an issue at all for some people. Aside from that, I am still in love with this cleanser. I will post a new picture soon to show you guys how my face looks now without makeup.

An Answer Product to Super Dry, Flaky Skin!

Ever had super dry skin? For the last 4 months, I have been suffering from bouts of what I have self-diagnosed myself to be, mild eczema. I thought that I was allergic to something I was eating, possibly food with gluten however, my eczema (very dry, itchy skin inflammation) was more of a psychosomatic type in that it was being triggered and worsened by stress.

Above is a "lovely" picture of myself, having a horrible flare up of eczema around my mouth! Believe it or not it actually got much worse, to the point that I had it above my cheek bones, up top my eye lids, the middle of my forehead and my chin! YIPES! Anyways, I tried everything to alleviate my skin problem but for some reason not even vaseline worked!

At night time, I did slather on some Aquaphor and though it softened the flaky, dry skin enough for me to gently exfoliate it off, it didn't take long for the dry skin to resurface. It's as if my skin was going through a super fast turnover rate or something...ugh! the horror!

Anyways, the only thing that worked is this product....

This stuff is what really saved my skin! I just love it to bits because not only is it affordable, it really works!

This cream is very rich (just as it describes on the label) so you honestly don't need much. If you do happen to get heavy handed, well lets just say you might be able to fry an egg on your face. At first when applied, the product will look like white but after a few seconds, it gradually becomes clear and leaves a dewy, healthy looking finish.

This product is fragrance free, but not oil free. It's recommended for people with very dry, sensitive skin. Also, the product comes in two sizes...the one I have is the smaller tub, but you only need very little unless you will be applying it to your body. This would be a great moisturizer during the winter as well. This retails for $6 - $8 and can be purchased at local drugs stores and online.

Here's my latest skincare-related purchase, both from POND'S (Luminous Clean Daily Exfoliating Cleanser and Luminous Clean Cream Cleanser) each for about $7 (online price, but I believe I purchased it at Walmart for around $5) and contains White Kaolin Clay
Kaolin Clay

KAOLIN CLAY - White kaolin, also known as China or white clay, is basically kaolinite and is the mildest of all clays. It is suitable for sensitive skin. It helps stimulate circulation to the skin while gently exfoliating and cleansing it. It does not draw oils from the skin and can therefore be used on dry skin types (source: http://www.essentialwholesale.com/Kaolin-Clay).

PONDS is a very famous brand in Philippines and although the packaging is different, they all share a signature fresh, clean scent that's not too overpowering. The POND'S products, in my opinion, are all very gentle whether it's a cleanser, a moisturizer or a cold cream.

First of all, I love the packaging of this Luminous Clean cleanser. The white, soft tube packaging partnered with the frosty pink flip open cap screams girly to me. I used this cleanser today and I adore the fresh scent. This product claims to remove impurities and makeup, and boy did it do just that! I saw the makeup removing effects of this cleanser right away and it definitely did a great job at cleansing my face. I didn't have mascara today so I can't say that it did a great job at removing waterproof mascara but I will be able to test that out soon enough!

I was somewhat hesitant in purchasing the Daily Exfoliating Cleanser because I am almost always disappointed by exfoliating beads. I have this fear of exfoliating beads scratching my skin or that the beads may be to rough for my uber sensitive skin. Anyways, I gave it a try despite my past experiences because I really want to find a good exfoliating product for when I want a really deep cleansing of my face and you know what I think I've found it!

So I used this cleanser today after purchasing it and right away I noticed that this cleanser created more suds compared to the cream cleanser and the exfoliating beads are not as abundant in amount (compared to previous exfoliating cleansers). The exfoliating beads felt so gentle on my skin, which I attribute solely on the fact that the cleanser it self is very creamy and thicker in consistency.

Overall, I am very happy with my purchases and I will continue to update you guys on how things pan out from here. I have only used these products once so I am still holding back on completely saying that these products are the best ever. Nevertheless, I see much promise in these products after just one use so I am excited to see how my skin improves or reacts for the next few days.

Anyways, thanks for reading and stopping by my blog! Next blog post will be about my shoe collection! Hooray for shoes =D
